The page for Phila YM's Ministry for Racial Justice and Equality in the Religious Society of Friends PYM; includes minutes of meetings, resources and some ways to interactively engage.
This page is being reinvented, as the work shifted when Yearly Meeting structure was shifted. Addressing Racism Collaborative (AKA AntiRacism Collaborative) has picked up the work. https://www.pym.org/addressing-racism-collaborative/
In despair, 2016: i am sick at heart at the lack of 'getting it' that ones very dear to me seem to be about the state of race and our ym
They say they get it, but at so hurt by the disruption at ym. They talk about the climate change mess and the minute of ym, but seem not at all troubled by no minute of action of any consequance about race and friends much less our world.
There is hurt, I GET THAT. Hurt people hurt people. GOD WAS in that room. Accessing god can happen in emotional turmoil. We have to have time for that. the Seasoning you ask for is to make it acceptable. It is part of the racism in our religious society.
When we cannot sit in the fire and hear god, not our agenda, talking, what does that mean?
